Thunderbirds agree to extension with Clarke Petterson

HALIFAX, NS (July 12, 2023) – The Halifax Thunderbirds today announced that the team has signed forward Clarke Petterson to a two-year contract extension.

“Clarke leads by example on and off the floor and is a key factor in our team's success. Clarke's high lacrosse IQ helps him see the floor well and move the ball to teammates easily, setting up for some great lacrosse plays,” Thunderbirds Owner and General Manager Curt Styres said of the signing. “Clarke is one of our leading scorers but is no stranger to transitioning the ball and playing defence when needed, and quite well at that.

“Clarke’s re-signing and return to the Nest is a great day for our organization and Thunderbirds fans and I can't wait to see what he brings to the team, the floor, and community for years to come.” 

Petterson, 25, has spent his entire three-year career with the Thunderbirds. The Toronto, Ontario product was selected by the organization in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2019 NLL Draft. 

In 2023, Petterson set new career highs in goals (32), assists (52), and points (84), finishing second in team scoring for the season.

Across 46 career games, the Cornell graduate has 74 goals and 120 assists for 194 points.
