Thunderbirds Announce Broadcasters for the Season

Nov 17, 2019

Halifax, Nova Scotia- The Halifax Thunderbirds have announced their inaugural broadcast crew for the 2019-2020 season, combining 20+ years of experience. Pete Dalliday will serve as the team's play by play announcer, with Pat Gregoire joining him in the booth as a colour analyst. Dana Jackson rounds out the broadcast team as the sideline reporter.

“We are extremely excited welcome our broadcast team to the Thunderbirds family,” said President and CEO John Catalano. “The years of experience between Pete, Pat, and Dana, both in broadcasting and lacrosse, is a huge asset to how fans will get to experience Thunderbirds games on B/R Live.”

Dalliday brings his strong lacrosse background to the Thunderbirds, having played four seasons in the Major Series Lacrosse League for the Peterborough Lakers. He has remained part of the Laker family serving as the team's play by play man for the past decade.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining the Thunderbirds organization for its inaugural season in Halifax,” said Pete Dalliday. “The city and the entire province I feel will really embrace this team as well as the league itself. Lacrosse is called the fastest game on two feet for a reason and Thunderbirds fans are in for a real treat.”

Dalliday once called 1,000 consecutive games for the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League, only to see his streak end with his debut on TSN calling NLL action for the Toronto Rock.

Pete has strong ties to lacrosse with his Uncle Peter Guerin, cousins Carm and Mike Collins having played for the Philadelphia Wings, and follows in his father’s footsteps who has called several Minto and Mann Cup Championships on radio.

“I want to thank Curt, John and the entire Thunderbirds organization for bringing me on board,” said Dalliday. “Getting the chance to work in the same booth beside Pat Gregoire is something I’m really looking forward to. Pat knows the game inside and out, he’s one of the best analysts in lacrosse. He’s the perfect guy to bring Halifax lacrosse fans up to speed on the NLL and the Thunderbirds in particular.”

Pat Gregoire will join the team with over 10 years of broadcasting experience and seven years of experience in Lacrosse media as a contributor to Lacrosse Flash, Inside Lacrosse and IL Indoor. He has served as the colour analyst for the Oakville Rock of Major Series Lacrosse, and for the MSL Finals & Mann Cup in 2016 and 2018.

“I am incredibly honoured and excited to be a part of the inaugural Halifax Thunderbirds broadcast team,” said Pete Gregoire. “I’d like to thank Curt Styres, John Catalano and the Thunderbirds organization for giving me the opportunity. It is an incredibly exciting time in the NLL and being able to witness firsthand the growth of the game, especially in the city of Halifax and couldn’t be more excited and privileged to be a small part of it.”

Gregoire played NCAA DIII lacrosse with Medaille College and with the Markham Ironheads of the Ontario Jr B Lacrosse League. Gregoire's knowledge of the game goes beyond the mic, having coached seven years with West Durham Ironheads of the Ontario Jr B Lacrosse League, winning coach of the year in 2019.

Dana Jackson will join this crew on the sidelines this season. Dana will bring her lacrosse experience to the sidelines having spent the past two NLL seasons working in the Philadelphia Wings front office.

“I would like to thank Curt Styres and John Catalano for this amazing opportunity,” said Dana Jackson. “I’m excited for the chance to be part of the inaugural broadcast team for the Thunderbirds and to be a part of growing the game here in Halifax.”

Jackson will bring her experience of having been the in-game host for UConn Women’s Basketball and Men’s Hockey and was also the in-game host for the Hartford Yard Goats Minor League Baseball Team. She was also a Gymnastics colour analyst on ESPN for the University of New Hampshire, Field Hockey Colour Analyst on ESPN for Boston College, a sideline reporter for the America East Conference for Men’s Lacrosse, Baseball, Track & Field, Swimming and Cross Country.

All Thunderbirds home games will be broadcasted on Bleacher Report Live as part of the league's broadcast deal with Turner. For more information on season passes for each and every broadcast, as well as behind the scenes content, please click HERE.
