Thunderbirds Announce Theme Nights For Inaugural Season

Halifax, Nova Scotia- The Thunderbirds announced today, theme nights for their historic Inaugural Season in Halifax. The Thunderbirds will kick off the 2019-2020 season on Saturday, Dec. 7 when they host the New York Riptide at 7:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Centre.
On Opening Night, the organization will light up the arena with an electric pregame ceremony, paying tribute to Nova Scotians around the Province, while honouring the canoe journey to Halifax from Six Nations, and the Mi'kmaq community that welcomed the Thunderbirds to the area.
National Lacrosse League action will begin with opening face-off slated for 7:00 PM. Fans will receive LED wristbands, allowing them to join in on the Opening Ceremonies and celebrating the journey to Nova Scotia. To purchase Home Opener tickets, please visit HalifaxThunderbirds.com/HomeOpener.
On Saturday, December 21, the Thunderbirds will spread holiday cheer with a Happy Holidays Game, as they host the Rochester Knighthawks. Fans will be able to purchase limited edition Holiday Sweaters, in a collaboration with East Coast Lifestyle. Music, festivities and more will rock the halls, including a special visit from Santa.
To ring in the New Year, the Thunderbirds welcome students back to the Scotiabank Centre with a Student Night, as they host the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday, January 11. Discounted Student ticket packs and contests will be available for all students who attend and rep their school pride.
The season long party will continue with First Nations Night on Saturday, January 18. The Thunderbirds will honour the indigenous roots of the game against the visiting San Diego Seals.
The team returns home for Canadian Armed Forces Night on Saturday, February 15th against the Saskatchewan Rush, honouring the men and women of our Armed Forces. The team will be wearing special themed Military Jerseys and have military themed merchandise available for sale. The night is presented by VETS Canada.
The tail end of a back-to-back home stand, the Thunderbirds host the Toronto Rock on Friday, February 21 for the East Coast Lifestyle Kitchen Party. The first 2,500 fans will receive a limited edition East Coast Lifestyle t-shirt.
Kids Day hits the Scotiabank Centre on Sunday, March 8, with an afternoon matchup against North Division Rival, Buffalo. Kids can stay and play after the game with activities on-field and throughout the concourse.
The Thunderbirds will honour local heroes on Heroes Night. The Saturday, April 18th) with the Philadelphia Wings, will allow fans to nominate family, friends, and co-workers who have gone above and beyond in the community, for special prizes and more.
The 2019-2020 home schedule concludes on Sautday, April 25, with the second of two home-matchups with the Toronto Rock. Fans will be able to take part in social contesting with giveaways, prizes, and more. Join us for Fan Appreciation Night!
