Thunderbirds, Captain Cody Jamieson agree to multi-year extension

HALIFAX, NS (July 24, 2023) – The Halifax Thunderbirds today announced that the team has agreed to a three-year extension with forward Cody Jamieson.
"As we have said for years, He is the heartbeat of this team. When he goes, we go," Thunderbirds Owner and General Manager Curt Styres said. "Cody’s game elevates at the biggest moments and that is what separates him from the rest. Our Captain is returning to the Nest and we couldn’t be happier."
Jamieson, 36, has spent his entire 12-year career as a member of the Thunderbirds organization after being selected first overall in the 2010 NLL Draft.
The Six Nations, Ontario product has won at every level. On top of his three NLL Championships with the organization, he also has two Division I National Championships with Syracuse as well as Minto Cup and Mann Cup victories. He was also named NLL MVP for his efforts during the 2014 season.
Jamieson appeared in all 18 games last season, finishing fourth in team scoring with 50 assists and 73 points. He also became the franchise’s all-time points leader, surpassing John Grant Jr’s previous mark of 694 points in the team’s final regular-season game against Georgia.
Appearing in 184 career games, Jamieson has 321 goals and 575 assists for 896 points and 740 loose balls.
