Thunderbirds ink Colton Armstrong to two-year extension

HALIFAX, NS (June 16, 2023) – The Halifax Thunderbirds today announced that the team has signed transition player Colton Armstrong to a two-year contract extension.
“Colton has continued to rise the depth chart on our team over the past few years,” said Thunderbirds Head Coach Mike Accursi. “His speed athletism, drive and work ethic is amazing. He has been outstanding in transition and defensively for us. Excited to see his level continue to rise as a member of the Halifax Thunderbirds.”
Armstrong, 27, just finished his fourth National Lacrosse League campaign – all four of which he’s spent as a member of the Thunderbirds’ organization.
The Peterborough, Ontario product appeared in all 18 games for the Thunderbirds during the 2022-23 season, scoring five goals and 12 points to go along with career highs in loose balls (57) and caused turnovers (12).
Appearing in 51 career games, Armstrong has compiled 15 goals, 38 points, 164 LBs and 32 CTOs.
“We are building something special in Halifax, so I couldn’t be more excited to sign with the Thunderbirds for two more seasons,” Armstrong said. “I can’t wait to be back at the nest playing in front of the best fans!”
