Thunderbirds Partner with Alexander Keith’s for 2020 NLL Entry Draft

(September 2, 2020) Halifax, NS - The Thunderbirds announced today their partnership with Alexander Keith’s for the 2020 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.

 

The National Lacrosse League will join the NFL, MLB, and WNBA Drafts as just the fourth professional sports league to produce a fully live virtual draft on Thursday, September 17With coverage beginning at 8 PM local time, the Thunderbirds hold the 11th and 14th selections in the first-round, followed by two second round, and two third round selections.

 

With the partnership, fans in Halifax will be able to attend Thunderbirds x Alexander Keith’s Watch Party at Niche starting at 7:30 PM local time. The draft will be played on the big screen in the beer yard and in the indoor lounge as a secondary viewing space. There will also be an exclusive Thunderbirds x Alexander Keith's door entry prize for all those who attend the watch party and other giveaways. Have a draft at the draft!

The second way to watch the draft will be with a second screen Virtual Draft Experience. Fans can tune in and watch the draft at home which will be streaming live on the Halifax Thunderbirds Facebook and YouTube presented by Alexander Keith's. 

 

The Virtual Draft Experience will receive exclusive behind the scenes content with Owner/General Manager Curt Styres and Head Coach Mike Accursi. This viewing option will show these two as they make decisions and selections for the Thunderbirds throughout the draft, with analysis from Thunderbirds Colour Commentator, Pat Gregoire.

The Thunderbirds look to add talent to their roster on September 17th after a very successful inaugural campaign in Halifax finishing the season in sole possession of the first place of the North Division.
