Aug 25, 2022
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (August 25, 2022) - The Halifax Thunderbirds have signed defenceman Colin Hinton to a one-year contract.
Hinton was selected in the sixth round (No. 88 overall) of the 2021 NLL Entry Draft by the Thunderbirds. He was a defender for Jacksonville University from 2020 to 2022. His final season saw him finish second on the team with 41 ground balls, and Hinton also caused 16 turnovers. He had 67 ground balls and 40 caused turnovers in 36 college games.
“Colin Hinton may be one of the best kept secrets in lacrosse, and I believe his chance to shine will be in the indoor game,” Jacksonville University head coach John Galloway said. “His attitude sets him apart. When Colin decides to win a matchup, he does. He is functionally strong, with elite feet and a nasty streak. I believe the NLL will bring his best attributes out. I can’t wait to watch him compete, and I believe he fell in the perfect organization to help him develop.”
Hinton was also selected in the fourth round (No. 31 overall) of the 2022 Premier Lacrosse League College Draft by Whipsnakes LC.
