Halifax, Nova Scotia – The Thunderbirds have announced that they have signed Darryl Robertson to a two-year deal. Robertson was part of the Knighthawks team last year that has now relocated to Halifax.
“Robertson is a fast, aggressive defenseman that plays tough defense and transitions the ball well up the floor, said Head Coach Mike Accursi. “He continues to get better every game. Last year was a break out year for him. I’m expecting even bigger things for him this year.”
Robertson completed his second season in the National Lacrosse League and his first with the Knighthawks. The Whitby, Ontario native ranked third on the team in points among defensemen with 12. He scored a goal in his pro debut on January 5, 2019. Robertson spent the 2017-18 season on the Toronto Rock practice squad.
“I'm unbelievably happy to be a Thunderbird for the next three years,” said Robertson about signing with Halifax. “Bringing pro lacrosse to Halifax is going to be great ride for all of us.”
